The only thing we love more than a catchy song, is a unique cover with a distinct sound that makes it “different” from the original. Although Justin Timberlake’s brand new single “Suit & Tie” was just released yesterday, YouTubers are already taking time to put their own unique spin on the song.
Some naysayers argue artists should make their own music instead of ripping off other artists, especially when the song was just released. What I say, is that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. By covering a song, an artist makes it their own, separate from the other artist. There’s Philosophy of Cover Music 101 for you…

How cool is this? Suit & Tie using cups? How Anna Kendrick of her. This cover sounds amazing and might be my favourite. The girl has a seriously incredible voice, why have we never heard of her before?
Jazz by LoeAshley
This cover provides a jazzier Amy Whinhouse-esque version of “Suit & Tie.” The acoustic vibe with the soulful voice puts a unique spin on the sound, and sounds incredible if I do say so myself.
Falsetto by r0bbiejayy
We thought JT had an amazing falsetto… Listen to this cover artist who has a mean falsetto, giving the song an edge. I am in love with this guys voice, it is so unique, and the acoustic (as it always does) makes the song that much more smooth sounding.
Rap by YoungMarkk
This artist doesn’t use any of the original song lyrics, but uses the instrumentals behind his own rap. As someone who doesn’t like rap, even I think this cover sounds great, and totally original.
Keyboards by SteveLaureti
A cover done with just a keyboard and vocals. I also hear some falsetto going on…and I love it.
