Before she fell hard for vampires, Kristen Stewart racked up tons of cute cameos and supporting film roles as a child actor. With The Twilight Saga’s Breaking Dawn Part 2 coming out this Friday, we figured it’s about time to look at K-Stew’s evolution from child actress to Twilight superstar.

She has a showbiz family

Kristen’s no stranger to Hollywood, considering she was raised in L.A. She was born on April 9, 1990 to a TV producing dad and script supervising mom. At first, Kristen wanted to work behind the scenes like her parents, but we’re happy she ended up on screen.

She practiced being famous

With a huge smile and even bigger shades, Kristen couldn’t be more of a diva in this shot from when she was about three. She even rehearsed being a star: “I always practiced my autograph because I loved pens,” Kristen said. “I’d write my name on everything.”

First Hollywood movie

After a year of auditions, nine-year-old K-Stew made her big-budget movie debut in The Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas in 2000. Watch out for the the cutie tossing rings in the pink dress! A whole four seconds…

Breakout role

Eleven-year-old Kristen got her breakout role in Panic Room playing Jodie Foster’s tomboy daughter. Her emotional performance earned K-Stew her first award nomination for the Young Artist Award in 2002, showing Hollywood she was more than ready for a leading role.

First live interview

Kristen did her first live interview when she to 13 with Ryan Seacrest, in 2004. She was there to promote her first lead role in the action comedy Catch That Kid. Her stage manager dad even comes on stage to say hi (aww).

Rising star

Aliens, not vampires, were Kristen’s first supernatural encounter in the 2005 sci-fi flick Zathura. In the film, 15-year-old Kristen did everything from being shot into space to falling through a black hole.

A-list actress

It’s been one lead role after another for Kristen ever since she joined The Twilight Saga. She was a rockstar in The Runaways, a warrior princess in Snow White and the Huntsmen and a member of the beatnik generation in On The Road. And she’s only 22!

Breaking Dawn comes out on Nov. 16.
