Modern Family is just about be the scariest movie you’ve never seen, and it’s all because of Fizbo the Clown. Cam’s quirky sleepwalking habit takes a terrifying turn in the mock horror version of the family television show.

You can do the same thing with horror movies. If The Exorcist decided to produce a television spinoff in the 80s, this is exactly how it would look. Instead of being a demon-possessed child, Regan would have been the quirky nonhuman character who lives upstairs.
By strategically editing it, adding cheesy music and a laugh track, suddenly everything becomes a whole lot lighter. It still scares the shit out of me though. Somehow, adding a laugh track makes it even more uncomfortable and scary. Which trailer do you think it scarier?
