Work training videos are usually pretty hard to get through because they’re so boring and LAME. However, every so often a video surfaces that we could watch over and over again because of its sheer awkwardness. At first, our reaction is:
But after our general bafflement and fear subsides, we realize it’s probably one of the most awesome videos we’ve EVER SEEN in our lives. I was lucky enough to find to work training gems today but I’m having a hard time deciding which one is more awesome. So we’re going to battle it out.
Contender One: Pier 1′s rap starring everyone
Description: This is a poorly written and performed rap by the “Pier 1 All-Stars” reminds me of when parents try to be “with it.” The song, which is called “Let’s Coaching,” is intended to train employees who want to make a “sale in the house” and features customers who look far to comfortable with their participation for me to be comfortable.
Contender Two: Creepy service song with bearded man
Description: The lyrics of this song include every cliche you can think of over a 90s beat. I don’t know what’s more awkward, the dancing, the singing or the awkward poses. I’d take one look at this video, see the bearded guy, and quit.
Winner: Contender two is our winner because the employees look incredibly uncomfortable. While Pier 1′s training video was certainly awful, it was only enough to make us cringe. The second video is enough to creep us out. Which do you think is worse?
