In the world of celebrity news, there’s no shortage of hits and misses. This week, Ryan Gosling is set to direct a film which he wrote and John Mayer ends it with Katy Perry via e-mail.
HIT: Ryan Gosling to direct his own film
He can sing, he can act and now he’ll direct his own film! Titled How to Catch a Monster, the flick will be lead by his Drive co-star Christina Hendricks. She’ll presumably play Billy, the single mother of two, who with her sons gets sucked into a fantasy underworld that they must escape from. Gosling also wrote the script and it’s scheduled to start filming next spring. Perfect Gosling is just perfect.
MISS: John Mayer dumped Katy Perry over e-mail
According to US Weekly, Perry found out her short summer fling with Mayer was over via e-mail. He probably thinks he’s hot shit because he cut his hair. I wouldn’t worry too much though, Perry fans. She’ll probably use this heartbreak to write another great hit.
HIT: Nick Jonas to co-judge with Demi Lovato on the X-Factor
I know the Jonas Brothers and Demi have always been on good terms ever since she and Joe split, but it’s always nice to see it reaffirmed. The youngest Jonas musician will be joining Demi on the X-Factor as a judge. While it’s not the American Idol gig he was reportedly looking for, X-Factor will at least deliver competition experience he was looking for.
MISS: Rihanna out with Rob Kardashian
The rumour mills were churning as Rihanna was spotted out and about with the male Kardashian (what? It happened with Kim and Kanye!). Rob’s since denied those pesky relationship rumours to Ryan Seacrest. While I’d like to think this is all Kanye’s fault, the two were seen together for a mutual friend’s birthday celebrations. Rob has also been linked to Rihanna’s labelmate, Rita Ora. Not bad for someone who lied about going to law school!
HIT: New 1D album to be called “Take Me Home”
We are that much closer to a new One Direction album, folks! Louis Tomlinson announced, via twitter, it’ll be titled “Take Me Home.” The album title, which is set to be released in October, seems appropriate enough since the boys started writing songs inspired by homesickness and missing their girlfriends while on tour. Get the tissues ready, ladies.
MISS: Lindsay Lohan Banned from a hotel
Oh, Lindsay, Lindsay, Lindsay. The “actress” somehow finds herself in the middle of trouble even though she’s been busy working all summer. This time, she’s been banned from the high class Chateau Marmont in L.A. for not paying her $46,350 bill. Included in that bill were charges for room services, candles, cigarettes and $3,000 worth of drinks from the mini-bar. Someone please get this girl an accountant before she Michael Jacksons her finances!
