Star Wars speeder bikes a reality

A company called Aerofex has developed functional Star Wars-inspired speeder bikes! The bikes work just like the ones you see in the movies. They hover above the ground and are quite easy to use according to Aerofex founder Mark De Roche. Although they’re not yet available for retail sale, the company is presenting the technology to the military. Does anyone else all of a sudden feel the urge to apply to the army?

Watch it here:

Air Guitar Championships

The 17th annual Air Guitar Championships were held Aug. 24 in Northern Finland, and an American took the top spot. Justin “Nordic Thunder” Howard, from Chicago, won this year’s event, followed by second place winner Matt Burns from New York, and third place winner Theun De Jong from Holland. If air guitar doesn’t sound entertaing enough for you, there were also contests for cellphone throwing and wife carrying. This would be way more interesting to watch then American Idol.. Just saying.

911 is not a sex hotline…

Florida man was perhaps confused by what the 911 emergency line is used for, after he was charged with seven counts of making phony 911 calls this week. Joshua Basso, 32, called seven times between Aug. 22 and Aug. 24, asking for female cops to come over to his home and have sex with him. I can imagine he got pretty excited when he saw the police finally showing up and then disappointed when he realized they were only there to arrest him.

Kid Fight Club

Just like the headline, this story is probably one of the most twisted stories I’ve ever heard of. Tiana Harris, 19, Estefania Myers, 21, and Lisa Parker, 47, are all charged with assault, reckless endangerment, conspiracy and endangering the welfare of a child, after allegedly making children fight each other at a Delaware daycare center. In a cellphone video, it shows the women telling the children to punch each other, while they watch. Yikes!

Hamburger Throwing Principle Still gets Paid

An ex-principal named Patricia Whitney, is still being paid post-resignation, after an incident where she threw a hamburger at a student. The kerfuffle happend last May in the school cafeteria after a female student threw a hamburger at Whitney. Naturally, the principal threw it back at her. She resigned two weeks ago and will continue to be paid until she finds another job. I wish I was there for that fight, I just really want to hear an adult say, ‘she started it,’ hahaha.
