When I get musical cards for my birthday my reaction is akin to Emma Stone in Easy A. When she originally receives the card from her grandparents, which sings Natasha Bedingfield’s “Pocket Full of Sunshine,” she mock barfs. But the more she plays it the more she becomes obsessed, until she’s singing into her hairbrush for the ENTIRE WEEKEND. That’s exactly what happened to me when I received a New Kids on the Block card from my sister a few years ago. I still have it tucked away for special occasions.
I guess this cat didn’t get to that point of reverence. He inflicts his rage on the kitten birthday card, which is seemingly mocking him, by pummelling it until it’s broken. Pleased with his conquest, he drags it out of the room to bury it forever.
