Santigold morphs into a creepy 1950s Stepford wife in the music video for “The Keepers.” The blonde-wigged artist shares a green-tinted meal with other domestic debutants when their peaceful dinner is suddenly interrupted by shady drive-by shooters. She sings: “We’re the keepers, while we sleep in America/ Our house is burning down.”
The Santi White-directed video is a cutting social critique with a danceable beat. The glaze-eyed family dances like Barbies in their own bubble and smiles for family portraits while their house literally burns around them.
The track is from the already-released Master of My Make-Believe.
