It’s tricky to find a mashup that doesn’t actually sound like a mashup. Sometimes you can tell the two songs weren’t really meant to make love and were hastily thrown together for novelty. But this Carlos Serrano-mashup sounds totally legit and I’m obsessing.
He mashed Kanye West’s “Homecoming” with Lana Del Rey’s “Born to Die.” Though we don’t hear her vocals, we do get Coldplay’s Chris Martin’s lyrics from the original version of “Homecoming.” I love the strong beat mixed with the the hypnotizing melody in Lana’s “Born to Die.” And I keep hitting re-peat-peat-peat-peat.
