My neighbours used to own two black cats with very different personalities. Felix was a happy-go-lucky feline who happily ate generic food over the seemingly tastier name brand. Jimmy on the other hand was what I now know to be an existential cat. He grimly sat by the window, either ignoring us or giving us a look of “I’m to good for this” disdain when we tried to pet him. Sadly, he had a corkscrew-shaped tail that I’m sure made him feel insecure.
If Jimmy met Henri, perhaps he’d at least feel another cat understood him. In this video, Henri, the existential cat ponders his dull existence and learns a few difficult truths along the way.
