In exaggerated news of the day, Ryan Gosling has been promoted from mere superhuman to godling, after he reportedly saved a woman’s life in New York City. Ryan’s heroism has long been revered since he broke up a vicious street fight last year.
Yesterday, he prevented British journalist Laurie Penny from getting pummelled by a taxi. Since tweeting about the dramatic rescue, Laurie has received loads of unwanted media requests because everyone wants to know if she saw a shining beacon silhouetting his frame (nay).
Laurie has determined that the excessive interest in the incident is too much, and I agree. After all, this isn’t the only good samaritan in NYC — think of Superheros Anonymous.
In the meantime, Oxford Dictionary is considering turning “Ryan Gosling” into a verb, to describe similar future events. For example: “Wow, you almost got hit by a car. Luckily I Ryan Gosling-ed you!”
