David Letterman quickly turned into Jennifer Lawrence’s shrink last night during their interview when she revealed that she thinks she’s like a troll. “I hate myself,” she said. “I think the movie is great but their biggest mistake was me.”
“Let’s go back to you hate yourself,” said Letterman taking out a pen and notepad. Letterman didn’t even need to ask any questions because Lawrence had multiple embarrassing stories to share, including how she gets all shaky on the red carpet. She hysterically retold horror stories about her brothers torturing her, like when they encouraged her to do shots before a red carpet event, which resulted in an unfortunate peeing incident (not too sure of the details here). She also said that when she wanted to try out for T-ball one of her brothers tied her to a tree and threw tennis balls at her so she’d toughen up.
The thing that struck me most about Lawrence is how utterly neurotic and self-depreciative she is. She’s so self-loathing that Letterman recommended psychiatric help. Though she bounces up and down like a Chihuahua (that’s her reference, not mine) she comes off incredibly humble. I love that!
One thing though, I think the Hunger Games star needs to be serenaded with “What Makes You Beautiful” by the boys of One Direction.
