One of the many themes in The Hunger Games is our extreme obsession with sadistic reality television programs. We love watching when marriages fall apart, a bratty desperado doesn’t get a rose or when someone gets voted off the island. In The Hunger Games arena, contestants fight to the the death and the prize is that you get to live.
Luckily, Suzanne Collins’ reality show idea isn’t real (yet), but if it ever does happen, I think this Coca Cola sponsorship commercial is pretty spot on. The director, Adam Sacks, imagines what an ad would look like by Coca Cola if they sponsored the show.
Give it time everyone… It will happen.
