VIDEO: Fake Dell ad spotlights fartography

Posted on February 23, 2012 by

It takes a little while to get to the punch line of this fake ad for Dell Visual Innovators, but once you do it’s worth the wait. The video captures fart photography, which is essentially shots of a man farting clouds of white powder.

The mockumentary style ad blew up on the internet. On first viewing, it seems like a legitimate ad because it fits their campaign and features “photographer” Clayton Sotos.

While it’s in no way related to Dell, they reacted to the hoax pretty well. The IT giant responded with the following tweet: “This video is in no way affiliated with Dell, but it’s great to see creative professionals get inspiration from using our products. Our dell.com/takeyourownpath program is all about celebrating people who take their own professional path. Regarding this parody, we consider imitation to be the sincerest form of flattery.”
