Rebecca Black was interviewed this week, where she talked about her crazy 2011. She discussed that although some people loved her song “Friday,” other people hated it, and that hatred was passed along to her personally.
“I honestly don’t know. I mean I can understand not liking the video as everyone has their own opinions,” said Rebecca Black on the Today show. “Some people have gone to some crazy extremes which I don’t understand.”
Hated or not, nobody can deny Rebecca was popular in 2011. ”Rebecca Black” placed No. 1 on the Google Zeitgeist, the list of the fastest rising searches of the year, and “Friday” being named the most-watched YouTube video of 2011.
“They’re definitely great lists to be on,” Rebecca says. “I don’t think it’s really sunk in yet that this little kid from Orange County is on the top of Google Zeitgeist and YouTube.”
