Drake rose to fame with Degrassi: The Next Generation, now he will be rising from the pages of a comic book, titled “Fame”.
The rapper that almost every young Canadian is proud of will now become a superhero. MTV reports Drake’s going to be the protagonist in a very cool comic depiction of himself. It will trace his life back to the good ol’ Degrassi days. Remember when he played Jimmy in a wheelchair? Remember the excitement surrounding his contract with Young Money? Remember how he melted the hearts of millions trying to “Find Your Love”? You can relive those moments again and learn some things you may not have known before with the new comic book.
An admirable quality that inspired comic book writer Mark Shapiro was the singer’s sense of priorities. He was amazed to discover that the singer had a “refreshingly real and down to earth” approach to pretty much everything.
“When was the last time you heard of a celebrity blowing off a lucrative tour to be at his mother’s side during her stay in the hospital? Drake did just that,” he said.
The comic will feature art by Mike J.C. and a cover designed by Joe Phillips. MTV says fans can hit up comic book stores when the book comes out in January 2012.
