Looks like rescheduling tour dates is the new trend for pop stars. First, Taylor Swift postponed dates on her Speak Now tour due to bronchitis and now, Katy Perry is suffering from food poisoning followed by severe dehydration according to MTV News.
Perry has postponed two dates from her California Dreams tour to later in August and says that she will make it up to her fans.
“I apologize to my fans in Chicago and the Twin Cities for not being able to perform this weekend, but I am going to return in a few weeks to give them the very best show ever!” she said.
Despite her illness, Perry’s Teenage Dream album has hit the tops of many Billboard charts. If her recently released Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.) single makes the top of Billboard Hot 100, she’ll be the first female to have five chart-topping songs from one album. Not to mention, she’ll break the record no artist has been able to do since Michael Jackson did with his #1 album, Bad.
Only time will tell if Perry’s California Dream will come true and nab the title many artists have been fantasizing about.
