Another weekend, another celebrity marriage!
Actress Sara Rue went her long-time love Kevin Prince at the Bel Air Bay Club in Malibu, Calif. On Saturday confirmed her rep to Us Weekly.
“I’ve never been happier,” the 32-year-old actress said. “I feel so lucky to have found someone as kind, funny and smart as Kevin.
Rue’s wedding planner Rachel Hollis, gave the scoop on the star’s intimate ceremony, which was officiated by a friend of the couple who got ordained specifically for the occasion.
“It’s more personal that way,” said Hollis, who also cited Rue’s love of all things butterflies and hummingbirds as the inspiration for the ceremony.
“One of the first things Sara ever told me was that she was obsessed with butterflies and hummingbirds,” Hollis said. “She loves specifically hummingbirds. She had this idea of a vintage inspired garden party and it evolved from there.”
Rue knew from the time she got engaged to Price in August of 2009 that she wanted her beachside wedding to be “elegant and really intimate” according to Hollis.
“They didn’t invite 700 people. They wanted it to be their closest friends. I think the final guest count is 112.”
Rue, famous for her weight loss on Jenny Craig, also incorporated some not-so-traditional elements into her wedding reception.
“[Sara] has talked a ton about how they met playing beer pong, so they wanted that at the reception. Obviously that is not a traditional reception kind of thing to have!” said Hollis.
The beer pong lovers tried to class-up their table though, with a homemade net of flowers. Ping pong paddles with Rue and Price’s initials followed the couple’s theme as wedding favours for the guests.
“Guests can actually use those to play beer pong later in the night,” said Hollis. “They really want it to be a party.”
