James Cameron Tries to Redeem Himself

Posted by andPOP Staff on December 26th, 2009

As reported a couple of days ago with TMZ video, James Cameron can be a nasty prick sometimes. This was clearly evident in the video footage where James Cameron refused to sign an autograph for a fan. Now there maybe more to the story than what was on the video, but James really looked bad. However in an interview with a LA Morning show, James Cameron explains that he will sign an autograph for any fan. See below for the video:

Wow, you really twisted that one around. Cameron’s not a nasty prick, he’s responding in kind to a nasty prick. Notice the edit in the video where the “fan”, who just happened to be lying in wait for Cameron at an airport with a poster handy for him to sign his very valuable signature to and trashy TMZ’s camera coincidentally (ha!) right behind him, cut out the parts where he was harassing the director, trying to provoke just such a response. Use your brain, people. It doesn’t even make sense on the face of it.

I am tired of reading posts saying that Mr. Cameron knew that guy was a TMZ reporter or the guy was going to sell the poster on ebay. I don’t know if the guy is a TMZ reporter or if the guy was going to sell the poster at ebay, but even if either is true Mr. Cameron had no idea it was true at the time he abused that man. In fact, If it had been you or me asking for Mr. Cameron’s autograph then Mr. Cameron would have treated us the same as he treated that guy at the airport. Fans have come to expect autographs because celebrities usually give autographs. It goes with the job that celebrities chose. Nobody forces them to be celebrities. It’s part of that business. I myself called Fox to ask them to release memorabilia because I wanted a piece of memorabilia commemorating Avatar for my wall. Not to sell. Fox hasn’t returned my calls. I guess their as rude as Cameron. I guess they disdain us fans as much as Cameron disdains us fans. I truly loved the movie, and I was planning to see it numerous times but not anymore. I talk others out of going to see it now because I’m that disgusted with Fox’s and Cameron’s disrepectful attitude towards fans. They treat us like rubes and pigeons. We fans are not their serfs. I won’t see the sequels either. Doesn’t it bother you just knowing that they really despise us fans and look down on us. Doesn’t it bother you that if you had asked Cameron for his autograph he would have treated you the same way he treated that guy at the airport? How can we enrich a guy who treats people like you as doormats??? We need to boycot this movie to show Cameron and Fox that we are to be treated with dignity and respect. If Cameron were one of the people in this new movie of his it certainly wouldn’t be Jake Sully because Sully cared about the common people. Cameron would be one of the arrogant creeps attacking the common people for sure.

  • Chris

Fox hasn’t returned your calls? Oh my god! How dare they! Don’t they know that that $15 movie ticket you purchased entitles you to anything and everything you want, the full VIP butt-wiping treatment as well as gives you the right to ambush unsuspecting citizens at an airport and verbally attack them without said person defending themselves? Oh, what, you didn’t notice the GLARING you’d-have-to-be-blind-not-to-see-it video edit that happens BEFORE Cameron loses his temper? What, pray tell, do you suppose transpired in those 20 or 30 seconds that TMZ didn’t want you to see? How gullible can you be?

  • Eugene Rus

Damn, Chris seems to be right! I’ve seen Cameron’s delicacy when he answered the stupid questions of stupid journalists on a press-conference in Moscow (most russians themselves share this opinion). He passed through this with amazing dignity. I can’t believe he did what he’s been accused for without a VERY serious reason.
