Simon Cowell Saying Goodbye to American Idol?
If losing Paula Abdul wasn’t bad enough, rumours are surfacing that Simon Cowell maybe ending his American Idol career. E! Online is reporting that Simon’s own brother Tony said on his podcast The Cowell Factor, that the Idol judge would be saying goodbye.
“A press statement is being prepared which will confirm what everybody expected: Simon will leave Idol at the end of 2010 to concentrate on bringing the American version of X Factor to U.S. TV in 2011,” Tony says in this week’s installment.
The X Factor is a show Cowell is currently producing in the U.K. which attempts to find the next pop star, and uses viewers votes to declare winners. Yes this concept does sound a little bit familiar. So much that Cowell and Idol producer Simon Fuller had a legal battle which was eventually settled.
