Pulp Fiction Writer Roger Avary Removed from Prison Work Furlough Program
Roger Avary, co-screenwriter of Pulp Fiction has been removed from a prison work furlough program and locked up, reports CBC. He was sentenced in September to one year in jail for vehicular manslaughter and drunk driving.
Avary, 44, was responsible for causing a car crash, killing one of his passengers, Andreas Zini, 34, who was visiting from Italy. Avary’s wife was also injured in the accident.
The Los Angeles Times reported he was removed from the furlough program and placed in county jail after Twittering about his experiences after he was sentenced. However, Capt. Ross Bonfiglio, spokesman for the Ventura County sheriff, said he was jailed over security issues that had nothing to do with his Twittering.
Avary shares a 1995 Academy Award with Quentin Tarantino for penning Pulp Fiction.
