I speak for no one but myself, let me make that clear. But as a fan, I did not just give him a free pass; I was pretty mad about everything (I'd already preordered the album tho so I didn't do any of that boycott stuff). However, one would be hard-pressed to find a person that says no one deserves a second chance. Also, if one chooses to view this from a very liberal perspective, WHY IS IT that Americans are so comfortable with violence and not sex? This thanksgiving I watched in horror as my thirteen-year-old cousin played a video game where the object was to shoot down as many of the enemy as she could...and there were pools of blood behind these men laying on the floor. It turned my stomach. And yet her mother would not let her watch gossip girl because it was "too racy." Call me European-minded, but that sounds very backward to me. I've got all kinds of thoughts going on in my head, so I wouldn't say I'm difinitively on one side or the other as to whether his performance was okay, but I will say that I am still a fan and believe that, as he said, he will stick to the choreography in the future and has learned a lot in the past few days.
