Ozzy OsbourneOzzy Osbourne, former lead singerĀ of Black Sabbath and star of reality show The Osbournes, will receive the Legend of Live Award at this year’s Billboard Touring Awards for his “significant and lasting contributions to live music,” reports CBC.

“Ozzy has altered the course of rock music and live performance through his work with Black Sabbath and as a hugely popular solo artist,” said Billboard’s Ray Waddell. “There is no doubt Ozzy’s impact on live music, including pioneering the multi-act rock festival touring with Ozzfest, will be felt for many years to come, and his efforts continue to shape the touring landscape in this century.”

The singer has sold more than one hundred million albums in his four decades as a performer, and is releasing an autobiography titled I Am Ozzy in Britain in October. A North American release date has not yet been announced.

Osbourne will collect his award at a gala Nov. 5 in New York City.
