Wolverine Spawns Spinoff For Ryan Reynolds
After “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” brought in a hefty $35 million on opening night alone and a worldwide gross of $158.2 million (and counting), 20th Century Fox has announced a spinoff movie featuring Canadian actor Ryan Reynolds as Marvel Comics’ Deadpool, according to E! Online.
Reynolds will star once again as Wade Wilson, a mercenary who is cured from cancer after going through the Genetic X mutation that also affected Wolverine.
Deadpool can obtain the powers of dead and captured mutants. He also has superhuman powers, including enhanced strength as well as self-regenerating healing abilities.
Fox is also working on another “X-Men” spinoff according to E! Online. The film is set to focus on Magneto (Played by Sir Ian McKellen in past X-Men productions). There is also another X-Men movie in works called “X-Men First Class”. The film is reportedly being written by Josh Schwartz, who also created “The O.C.”
