Taylor Swift, Brad Paisley Among CMT Awards Performers
The Country Music Television channel has announced the initial lineup of performers for its eighth annual awards show.
Taylor Swift, Brad Paisley, Rascal Flatts and Toby Keith will be among the artists taking the stage at the gala on June 17.
More performers will be announced at a later date.
Fans can go to the CMT website to cast their votes for the first round of nominees in 10 categories until May 11. The four finalists in each category will be announced May 19.
Swift, who has been a CMT Awards winner two years running, is again a multiple nominee in the first round. The 19-year-old’s “Love Story” is up for both Video for the Year and Female Video of the Year, while her collaboration with Def Leppard, “Photograph,” is up for Wide Open Country Video of the Year and CMT Performance of the Year.
The 2009 CMT Awards will be broadcast live from the Sommet Centre in Nashville.
