Miley Can Smile Now
It may have taken a few weeks, but the “Hannah Montana: The Movie” soundtrack has finally landed the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 charts. After selling 133,000 more units, the soundtrack has moved past the 500,000 mark giving Miley Cyrus another No. 1.
The movie soundtrack managed to beat Diddy’s Day 26 who sold 113,000 copies with their album “Forever in a Day,” earning them the No. 2 spot. Meanwhile, last week’s No. 1 spot holder, Rascal Flatts, dropped to the No. 3 spot with “Unstoppable,” selling 107,000 units, per Nielsen SoundScan.
The Silversun Pickups made their debut on the chart at No. 7 with sales of 43,000, and albums like the “Twilight Soundtrack” (No. 4), “Now 30” (No. 5) and “Last Kiss” remain on the top 10.
Kings of Leon managed to jump an impressive 13 spots to No. 18 with their eight-month-old album “Only by the Night,” but the band didn’t leap as many spots as the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, who climbed 20 spots to No. 27.
Wrapping up the top 10 are Lady Gaga with “The Fame” at No. 8 (36,000 copies), “Wide Open” by Jason Aldean (No. 9) followed by Taylor Swift’s “Fearless.”
