They are buying her studio-produced, electronically pitch-corrected CDs. She absolutely cannot sing. She can't carry a tune. Virtually every live performance you can watch of her shows that she ALWAYS sings flat beyond belief. Why her fans manage to ignore this is because they just kind-a like her and her songs, and she's got "the look." Saying that she never sold out is not really accurate either. By her very nature, a cute blonde country girl writing teenage love songs is automatically a media product that the record industry would love to get behind in order to make lots of money. She "demanded" that they let her write her own songs. Good for her. But you can bet that if the songs she writes weren't in line with the image they wanted to project for her, she'd be out on her rear end. The notion of "artistic integrity" here is baloney. Even though Taylor didn't sell out for a record deal back then, she has been selling out after she has gotten big with her debut album - the countless horrible remixes just to court pop audience and get more sales. I don't believe one bit that "she just wants to share her music" with the pop audience. If so, she should've stick to the original version no matter what. Just my opinion. This might actually hurt her in the long run as more people are unhappy with the remixes and tend to write off her talent and group her together with other teeny-boppers like Miley.
