Rant ‘N Rave: Nicole Scherzinger

Posted by Irene Ogrodnik on April 11th, 2009

The Pussycat DollsWhen The Pussycat Dolls shot to worldwide fame after they released their dance hit “Don’t Cha,” perhaps above and beyond the other group members, critics and fans adored Queen Doll Nicole Scherzinger.

Now, four years later, it seems that the group’s lead vocalist receives more negative criticism than support. On sites like YouTube and other message board forums, countless of “fans” accuse Nicole of constantly providing lead vocals while other vocally talented members, most notably Melody Thornton, rarely, if ever, sing.

But why does that still surprise people?

When the group originally signed their record deal, Nicole was specifically given the role of lead singer. At no point were Thornton, Jessica Sutta, Ashley Roberts, Kimberly Wyatt or ex-member Carmit Bachar given equal status in the group.

So yes, while the name Nicole and The Pussycat Dolls may be more suitable, I have yet to hear the other Dolls complain that they are just merely background dancers to Nicole.

And let’s face it, neither of the other members have any reason to complain. They knew what their role would be right from the gecko. On numerous occasions and in several interviews, founder Robin Antin emphasized that she wanted The Pussycat Dolls to comprise of a leader singer and backup members.

No shock there whatsoever.

Yet, Nicole continuously gets lashed for fulfilling her role—a job that I do not think the other members could live up to.

Melody has an outstanding voice but it is not as strong or versatile as Nicole’s. Nicole’s vocals are more seductive—a key ingredient that makes the PCD so successful. However, should Nicole ever want to quit the group, Melody is the only other member that has the potential to succeed as the lead vocalist.

When it comes to physical appearance, Jessica, perhaps, is even more naturally beautiful than Nicole. However she is not nearly as secure as her and the natural confidence Nicole exudes cannot be taught.
Ashley and Kimberly are, in my view, the group’s best dancers. But that’s just it. Both ladies are dancers above singers. Thus, they do not have the entire package to bring the same commercial success to the group if either provided the lead vocals.

And while I will admit that the other group members are the reason why The Pussycat Dolls are still loved by fans, Nicole is the reason why the group is still topping music charts. Unlike the other members, Nicole penned some of the group’s best hits.

Without her, the group would have a difficult time surviving.

But I will also admit that even Nicole has her own flaws.

I am still puzzled on how it’s possible for Nicole to butcher and mispronounce the words to “Jai Ho.” When A. R. Rahman correctly sings the words in the remix only to have Nicole belt “Jay Ho” right after, pains me.

Who taught her how to read?

But like I said.

Even Nicole has flaws.

But I still love her.

    I AGREE!!!

..nicole might not be the best on vocals, dancing, etc. and have some flaws but she has everything to make the group stand up among others..

but i think she’s the prettiest..

  • Mark

When The Pussycat Dolls debuted I was their biggest fan. I actually loved the idea of a main singer and five sexy girls dancing around her. But to be honest, that set-up only works in the cabaret scene, and after a while, I grew tired of it.

I agree that Nicole has the best vocals in the group. Her voice is so versatile it’s shocking. She can actually sing opera, pop, R&B/Hip hop, rock, and the old school/jazzy/showtunes songs (like “Santa Baby” or “Perhaps, Perhaps, Perhaps”). And Nicole does have a lot of charisma and stage presence.

But my issue isn’t that she is lead singer. My issue is that she is treated like she is the only person in the group.

The others don’t even get to sing back-up. Nicole sings all lead and back up vocals! The others aren’t strong singers, but they are good enough to sing even one line. The solo songs on their second album prove that they can carry a tune.

Jessica Sutta has done work outside the group (see Jessica Sutta “White Lies” on YouTube), and Melody is a gifted vocalist. Frankly, the only person in the group who can’t sing to save her life is Kimberly. Nicole may be lead singer, but that doesn’t mean that she should be the ONLY singer. And frankly, the others don’t complain about it because they dare not do it in public. Why would they publicize the group’s internal struggles? It’s called poise and dignity. Still, that doesn’t mean that the problem isn’t there.

They completely lost me with this second album, especially after I found out how it was recorded. Ash, Kim and Jess had nothing to do with the album. Melody sang the demo for most songs, and when Nicole had the chance, she met Ron Fair in the studio and rerecorded Melody’s demos in her own vocals (for proof, see youtube video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OEp4HpwB7zk You can hear Melody singing the song in the background at 0:16 to 0:30. The finished song, however, was all Nicole). That is just unfair on every level.

That is exactly why their second album was a huge flop. It’s a reincarnate of “Her Name Is Nicole” Nicole’s unborn solo album.

I disagree that without Nicole the group will be struggling. The fact is without Nicole, the group will not survive at all. Period! Nicole is PCD. PCD = Nicole Scherzinger. Without the ladies, Nicole will still succeed if given time and the right moment. It’s silly to watch Nicole sing a cappella during a radio interview while those other girls just nodding their heads and looking down. I mean come’on, those girls are just pathetic and should know their roles and support Nicole. When Nicole is sick during the DD tour, they have to cancel the show because no other member/s could step up and fill in for Nicole.

  • Mark

Bob, you’re talking crap: “Without the ladies, Nicole will still succeed if given time and the right moment.” Nicole had the right time and right moment, and what does she has to show for it? An album that has never seen the light of day, with the sad excuse that she is a perfectionist and didn’t want to release it just yet. Bullshit.

She flopped, because she has too big of an ego, and not enought talent to back it up. She may be able to sing, but that alone doesn’t cut it. And whenever they are told to sing, Melody always step up. She has the capacity to sing a few lines (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=33CIw0iGmZ8 and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jBYJ0mDwvQc), if the managers would stop licking Nicoles ass for a second and listen.

  • Mark

  • Bob

Chill out dude. You’re just bitter that Nicole is better than your favorite PCD member/s. I know you’re bitter just by reading the last sentence alone. ;)

Look at it this way, when they were on tour in Europe in January thru late February, each girl did their own solo song. Why is it that each girl could only sing their song for 2 minutes average when Nicole sings full version most of the time? And don’t give any excuse that these girls dance their asses off because Nicole dances her ass off WHILE singing. That’s something that any of those girls can’t do. It’s just not in their abilities. If I was any of those girls, I know I don’t have any right to complain because I know that our leader does everything more than I could ever do. All you do in this scenario is be very thankful that you have an alpha female like Nicole so you could take the backseat and still get paid. Kimmie feels the same way when she said that other PCD members including her were terrified that PCD might come to an end when Nicole was promoting her solo album. That’s a nuff said factor.

Nicole is the most gifted, most talented, most charismatic and most stunning PCD member. The other 4 girls are beautiful but Nicole has all the ideal features. She has the biggest chest, smallest waist, the perfect abs, biggest hips/behind and the ideal legs. Not to mention that she has the most beautiful eyes out of all the members and her face is flawless to compliment her body. If you walk in the streets with a PCD photo and survey people that don’t know anything about PCD on who is the most gorgeous member, Nicole Scherzinger will win by a landslide. Without her, there will be no more PCD. Anything any member could do, Nicole could do better.

I bet Melody is envious of Nicole. She’s saying to herself, Nic is more talented than me, more charismatic than me, has an ideal body unlike me, anything I can do, she can do better. I bet she’s very depressed. Won’t you agree? By the way, I’m picking on Melody because she seems bitter at Nicole’s spotlight more than any member. She rolls her eyes and storms off when the paps were calling out Nicole’s name and not hers. I just know that Mel is a soar loser attention whore. Mel better start kissing Nicole’s ass more because if she doesn’t, one day when Nicole leaves for good, Mel will simply disappear for good. Mel better start building a long term friendship with Nicole so that when Nicole surpass prime-Whitney Houston, Mel will walk around gloating that Nicole is the greatest and that she’s Nicole’s #1 YES woman. ;)

  • Mark

Bob writes: “when Nicole surpass prime-Whitney Houston”. You just lost what little credibility you had as a sane person. I was actually thinking you were a decently smart, music loving guy, but you’re nothing but an idiot, it seems. You’re not worth a proper response. hhha. I have to laugh at you hhaha.

And for the record, whenever I ask PCD fans and even non-fans who’s the hottest PCD, they always say the blond chick (They are talking about Ashley).

  • Bob

That comment was just a joke. I know she will never be prime-Whitney because of her ethnicity. But you got to admit she’s on par with Whitney talent wise to say the least. And because of the joke, you’re not answering my question? Either way you got no answer for it because I’m right on the money.
I don’t know where you live in Europe but here in my diverse hometown, any individual will say Nicole stands out the most. They don’t factor in the ideal blonde Caucasian chicks. Even if they do, they have nothing on Nicole beauty wise.
When you buy a PCD album, you are supporting Nicole. That’s a fact. For a guy like you who’s against Nicole as the sole lead vocalist, you need to start embracing Nicole because when she leaves PCD, your favorite member/s will disappear for good. They will never get another chance at stardom again. So enjoy the ride that Nicole is carrying them on before it’s too late. ;)

  • Mark

“she’s on par with Whitney talent wise to say the least”. There you go agian. You’re a dumb ass, plain and simple. Delusional! Nicole isn’t even as good as Beyonce, much less Whitney (especially, if you factor in her performances at the American Music Awards lool).

For starters, I’m North American, not European. Secondly, it’s great that people choose Nicole where you’re from. To repeat myself, the people who I know, especially those who don’t listen to them very often and aren’t tainted by the media surrounding them, always say the blonde chick with the long hair. I don’t need you to approve or validate this, i’m just reporting what people tell me.

And yes, when Nicole leaves, the others will all fade away. But Nicole will still be struggling to chart on Billboard “Bubbling Under” chart. If I remember, all her singles stalled on that chart, and didn’t even make it to the Hot 100 chart. You seem to be forgetting that. Nicole is a huge flop as a solo artist. Big, huge, sad disappointment. I’m not just being mean or talking crap. She failed big time. After PCD, she will probably be dropped from her record label. I give it a month hahhaha.

  • Bob

    You’re one low bitter dude.
I’ve listened to a few rare demos before and after the Eden’s Crush era that only a few have heard. Just listening to some of those, undoubtedly she’s one of the most underrated singers. She has that pure versatile talent that not a lot of singers have. She’s such a true virtuoso.
Your hatred & negativity towards Nicole drags her talent to a Vanessa Hudgens’ level which is just repulsive to think. Even you know that Nicole is more talented than what you’re expressing about her but you’re just bitter because you feel your favorite PCD member is getting held back while the limelight is shinning on Nicole. And you place the blame on Nicole when DD failed. You might not want to admit it but you know it.
I do agree that Nicole failed big time in her first attempt at solo career but this time, it’ll be different. And when Nicole makes it big time, the other girls will disappear for good. The other four dumb asses will not be there to drag Nicole down anymore. Her record label will not drop her because she’s hot cake to snatch for other record labels if she ever gets drop. Sky’s the limit. Nicole’s here to stay for good. And by the way, I’m not delusional. ;)

  • Mark

I’m not bitter. And if you read all my posts, I never said Nicole couldn’t sing. My initial response to the article was “Her voice is so versatile it’s shocking. She can actually sing opera, pop, R&B/Hip hop, rock, and the old school/jazzy/showtunes songs…And Nicole has..charisma and stage presence”.
So yeah, I do think she is a good singer. But I give her a 6.5/10, especially after her http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FcWbKWYO2hc&feature=channel_page “America the Beautiful” performance. That song just highlighted her vocal limits.

I just don’t think she has the it-factor like many other singers (i.e. Britney Spears or Madonna, who both have half the talent of Nicole). You are overrating Nicole. She is not, nor will she ever be, in the league of Whitney Houston–vocally or in terms of success. Whitney is/was one of the best singers on the planet. Nicole is not, nor will she ever be, in the league of Britney or Beyonce, who are two of the best entertainers on the planet.

The material from her last album was mediocre, and she has too much ego for her own good. She already sings 99% of the group’s songs, yet she is greedy for more solo attention. Never mind my love for the other members. As I said, I’m not that much into them anymore. But you seem to be obsessed with Nicole… And believe me, Nicole WILL fail again.

  • Bob

I wasn’t fond of her making an appearance on that pro-wrestling event however I love her performance. I don’t find anything wrong with it at all.
And you just made my point about the “it” factor. She will never see those performers’ spotlight because of her ethnicity. I don’t like to drag in the race card factor but it’s the truth. I know it’s very sad since it’s the year 2009.
She’s just trying to get her name and her true love out there that’s why she’s hungry for her solo career despite singing most of PCD’s song. She grew up singing a lot of soulful songs and idolized after R&B and Soul singers. In PCD, Robin Antin made all the decisions to fit in with the history of the Vegas Dolls therefore they recorded a lot of old school, dance & pop so there aren’t soulful ballads on the album. She’s just trying to get who she really is out there for the world to see and listen to. And that’s her love for R&B and Soul. Even Nicole has stated that on a number of occasions before. I know a lot of PCD fans are against the soulful ballads that she put out but if you love Nicole, you got to respect the fact that that’s the type of music she enjoys the most.
It’s like putting Mary J. Blige in a group with Madonna and Kylie Minogue and telling them to record dance/techno type songs. And if Mary J. gets out of the group and promotes herself as a solo artist performing R&B and Soul, are you going to say she has an ego bigger than Texas for showing the music genre her strength lies on? I highly doubt that because dance music is not her strength. Look at it that way for Nicole in PCD too. She has stated several times in the past that the reason why she joined PCD was to get a solo contract otherwise she would have never been a PCD. The reason why she is so versatile in other music genre is as I said “she is a true virtuoso”. She has no major weaknesses.
As an R&B and soul fan, I actually enjoy DD more than PCD but you along with thousands are entitle to your opinions. As a Nicole fan, I would never give up on her as a solo artist and I have faith that she will succeed at the right moment if given the opportunity.
So you can take that bottle of Haterade and gulp it down at a Vanessa Hudgens, Cassie or Megan Fox fansite where I would actually support you. Good luck. ;)

  • Mark

Please don’t give me this bull. Nicole hasn’t record any soulful R&B songs for her album. “Baby Love” and “Whatever You Like” were as pop as pop can get (and as crappy as songs can get, but I digress). How can you put Nicole and Mary J. in the same vein? Are you kidding me? Mary J= Soulful R&B; Alicia Keys=Soulful R&B. Nicole sounds NOTHING like them, and the failed singles that I heard from her albums– (the aforementioned) plus “Happily Never After” “Who’s Gonna Love You” or “Just Say Yes”– in no way whatsoever indicated a change from the watered-down, disposable pop/dance/mock-R&b that she sang in PCD.

And for the record, to classify PCD’s repertoire as “dance” is to oversimplify their sound. Their last album, in particular, was more boring pop and mock-R&B than the couple dance songs they had. To suggest that this sound is somehow holding back Nicole is ludicrous– to say the least.

To be honest, it’s not like Nicole was treading new artisitc ground with her solo attempt. And it’s really doubtful that Nicole will shine when the group slowly burns out. Right now, they are in trouble, hence their status as opening act. Their album “Nicole Domination” hasn’t even gone gold (1/2 million) yet, after bring released 7 months. Can Nicole, by herself, revive her image and gain success? Past events indicate the negative.

(And to be clear, this isn’t coming from someone who doesn’t know what he’s talking about. I’ve been following Nicole’s career since the beginning of PCD, when I was a fan, and even had most of her solo songs on my iPod, including “Super Villain”. It was after DD was released that I got fed up with them and began to be annoyed by the act, and especially by her.)

  • Mark

And I just had to address this in another post. What the fcuk does race have to do with anything? Her race as a lightskinned, caucasian-looking, half-Filipino somewhat Russian-5″6′ attractive woman? Oh yes, she is bound to be descriminated against. Give me a damn break. You’d grasp at anything to explain her failure. But please elaborate. Because you have said that her race factors in, but you haven’t stated how. What is it about her race? What evidence do you have for this? Has any other artists faced descrimintion and racism that would indicate a similar fate for Nicole?

  • Bob

If you are not aware of race issues going on then you must live in a cave. How many Polynesian celebrities are out there? The answer is not a lot. People are going to look at Nicole and not take her seriously. I have study discrimination in society. Usually no one takes oriental decent people seriously. They are look upon as inferior to other ethnicities. It’s shocking to some but it’s true. I know it sounds silly but believe me.
I have friends of Hispanic decent that have said they thought Nicole look very attractive until they realize that she’s mainly Filipino and not of Hispanic decent. It sickens me but people like that do exist in society everywhere. I’m very aware of this issue because I grew up in both a mainly Caucasian neighborhood and then a very diverse neighborhood.
An example is back in the golden days of old school jazz, Benny Goodman is considered the godfather of Jazz when there are plenty of African American jazz musicians out there that Goodman could not even be compared with talent wise and performance wise. Same thing with rapper Eminem. There are plenty of better rappers out there but because he’s Caucasian, he gets all the hype and love. Also look at it this way, what if Miley Cyrus wasn’t Caucasian? What if she was a minority, would people still support her as much as they do? How about what if Nicole was full Caucasian? Who knows, she might get embrace more by the media. What if Whitney Houston was Caucasian? She would undoubtedly get more recognition than she already has. Just look at some of those examples and think OPEN MINDEDLY about those possibilities.
These are just a few examples for folks like you that live in a cave. I did not elaborate all this time because I thought you might get what I’m saying but obviously you don’t therefore I have to go off topic just to educate you. It’s called commonsense101.
Honestly, we can debate this crap nonstop forever. You have your own opinion and I have mines. When a Nicole fan debates with a Nicole hater, it doesn’t go anywhere. I’m just wasting my time defending her. Same with you.

  • Mark

“Commonsense101″? Bob, are you for real? You base you entire arguments on what-is’s and ungrounded theories and suppositions, and expect to convince me about it? And to act with such an air of smugness? Bob, are you serious? Yes, I’m aware of racial issues right now in society, because I currently major in Sociology and Diversity Studes. And I happen to know for a fact that what you are saying is INCORRECT. Society discriminates, on average, against VISIBLE minorities and ethnicities. Nicole isn’t a visible minority (she doesn’t have instantly discernible physical attributes of a specific race, and I’m sure that you always hear people say how beautiful she is), and the few friends that you have do not indicate the majority. First order of business before you argue a point: Never overextend/overgeneralize a point.

Secondly, racial stereotypes, while being incorrect, are both positive and negative in nature: certain African Americans stereotypes are that they all steal. But there are also positive ones, such as 1) they are good at sports; 2) they make better singers. So to correct you again, if Whitney Houston was white, she would actually not gain more fame. Study a list of the greatest singers in history, according to Rolling Stone magazine. 7 out of the top 10 singers are African American. The #1 is Aretha Franklin a Black woman, the #2 is Ray Charles, a black man. So that disproves your theory right there.

Your point about Eminem doesn’t make sense. His status as a white male rapper would actually inhibit, rather than assist in his success, for the very fact that hip/hop is a black-dominated genre. Eminem gained success because he released some good material back then, like his “Marshal Mathers LP”, not because of his skin color. Beyonce and Alicia Keys both have over 10 Grammys and they are black, not white. The Billboard hot 100 charts is dominated by African Americans, and the sounds of Hip/hop and R&B.

If you actually look at the music industry, you’ll find that there is discrimination. But the discrimination isn’t necessarily regarding skin color. it’s regarding physical image: issues of weight/dress size as well as manner of dress (skimpier outfits etc). If people look at Nicole and disapprove, it’s mostly because of the PCD image that she represents (the whole idea of strippers) and not because they are thinking “OMG, I heard somewhere that she isn’t fully white”. In case you don’t know, Hawaiian women are looked on as exotic, and in a positive light.

Thinking openmindedly about the issues is exactly what I’m doing. Racism is a very complex issue, and it doesn’t hold Nicole back AT ALL.

I don’t expect a reply from you. You’re obviously out of your league here, so just walk away in shame.

  • Bob

Just because you live in an ideal society doesn’t mean that everyone lives like you. While you wake up and have your little cup of tea and breakfast talking about your plans that day to buy a new property, there are people out there that doesn’t wake up to a nice breakfast and buying a new property will be the last thing on their minds. So snap out of it because YOU are the one that doesn’t know what the F you’re talking about.

You claimed you know about racial issues but why don’t you give minorities a chance? The saying goes if you’re not a minority then you don’t know what it feels like to be a minority. I’m just a sympathizer because I see minorities that struggle and I can never imagine how horrible it is. So you can take your little bullcrap study and throw it away because it only empowers the white man to say that discrimination doesn’t exist. You did not think open-mindedly despite you claimed you did.

You claimed that Nicole doesn’t have a visible minority feature. Well have you ever seen an Asian person before? Compare some of their features. They DO look similar. You must be blind. The reason why she doesn’t look full Asian is duh… because she’s only partial oriental but it’s still her dominant feature. And people do say how beautiful she is but that doesn’t mean everyone is on the same page. My friends that shed away knowing she wasn’t of Hispanic descent are not the only ones that are like that. For you to say that they don’t represent the majority just proves why you live in a cave.

And you claimed that if Whitney was white, she would not gain more fame. That’s false because the stereotype that blacks are better singers will play a huge roll in this. People will say Whitney is white and she could sing better than most blacks therefore she will gain more fame. Duh… Rolling Stones is just one source. There are plenty of better sources out there. So Rolling Stones = God according to you? What a small world you live in. :rolleyes

As a white male and an Eminem fan, I really believe that if he was black, he would not see the light he saw. Skin color does play a huge role in his success as you said that hip hop is dominated by blacks. So there you go, you just proved my point. You said “Beyonce and Alicia Keys both have over 10 Grammys and they are black, not white”. So you considered Alicia Keys a minority and not Nicole? Wow, I mean what the fuck is your problem? A lot of black people say Alicia Keys is a white girl in a black girl’s body and she’s a black girl to you. Man, you are seriously messed up. It’s like debating with a retard.

The entertainment industry and its fans does discriminate on race because why is there not a black, brown, or yellow version of let’s say a Miley Cyrus? Someone who is a fan favorite and can’t do any wrong. In history, there has never been a minority version of Britney Spears or Miley Cyrus. Why is it that in High School Musical, Monique and Corbin are third, forth or fifth string characters compare to the white kids? And it happens all the time not just in HSM. The minorities are always the third or fourth string characters. Why is that? Why because minorities don’t have that mass appeal. The white audience is going to appreciate characters that look more like them. Ironically the cast of The View was discussing this topic a few weeks ago and of all people even Elisabeth Hassellback agrees that it’s sad but true. All the white Barbie dolls are sold out leaving all the black Barbie dolls on the shelves in stores that I have worked at. I know you see my point but you will dodge it as always.

You said “OMG, I heard somewhere that she isn’t fully white”. Dude, people won’t say in your corny tone but they will not consider her something special and it’s a fact. And just for the record, she doesn’t even look white for that matter either so don’t try to put words in other people’s mouth that everyone will considered her white just because you do. Obviously, you don’t have the best visions. If you ask any PCD fan or Nicole fan, they will consider Nicole a minority and again it’s a fact.

You said “In case you don’t know, Hawaiian women are looked on as exotic, and in a positive light.” You know what? Hawaiian women to you = white women? That’s beyond retarded. Why are there not a lot of Hawaiian women in the entertainment industry then if they are so ideal? Why don’t you answer that?

You also said “Racism is a very complex issue, and it doesn’t hold Nicole back AT ALL.” You are wrong period. I can’t believe how stupid you are. Black people supports black people (i.e. Bow Wow & Cherish), brown people supports brown people (i.e. Daddy Yankee & Pitbull), white people supports white people (i.e. Eminem & Asher Roth) & yellow people supports yellow people (i.e. BoA & Utada). The type of people who are going to support Nicole are of Polynesian/oriental descent. If they don’t support Nicole, she will disappear that’s a fact. Right now, there are not much oriental descent people supporting Nicole besides a selected few Filipinos. Most of her fans are blacks and whites. No matter how much love they show her, they will have other higher preferences on their list. Nicole needs Asian people to step up and support her. What don’t you get about that? On BET, why do they have mostly Black celebrities? Why, because it’s a black crowd. People in society tend to look at a celeb of their own race and idolize after them. Duh… That’s why racism does exist in the entertainment world.

Bottom line is you are out of your mind to even consider Nicole white. I’m white myself and I don’t consider her a part of my race. If Nicole comes to my birth town, everyone will give her a stare. And no, they are not racist. They will give her a stare because they are not used to seeing a minority in town. Nicole is half Filipino, a quarter Hawaiian and a quarter Russian with little Spanish, German and Chinese blood according to various sources. How is she white? Explain that will you? When the color white is mixed with a little red, it turns pink. So on and so on. When a white person reproduce with a black person, their offspring will be biracial and not purify white therefore they are not considered white. If you are part white like Alicia Keys or Nicole, you are considered a minority. When Nicole takes a survey, according to you, she should bubble in her race as white? Man, what’s that strong shit you’re smoking? I’ll like to know. You lost it when you even considered Nicole white. You have no more credible point in your argument. This whole time I was replying back and forth with a dope head. What a waste of time.

Nicole Scherzinger is white = FAIL!!

  • Mark

Dude, I’m about to write an exam, so I’m not going to attack you just yet. But I just had to clear the air on something: when have I EVER SAID THAT NICOLE WAS WHITE? Read my post carefully, because it’s obvious that my language was probably too advanced for you. I said she does not have overt, discernible minority features. She has somewhat clear light skin, and long, flowing black hair. One cannot automatically look at her and say “Oh, she is definitely Filipino” or “She is definitely Russian”. Even you said it: your friend had to learn that she was a particular race. They are not instantly identifiable, and therefore, she is NOT a visible minority. I didn’t say she wasn’t a minority. I said she wasn’t a VISIBLE MINORITY. THERE’S A DIFFERENCE. If you studied it like me, then you would have probably realized this. Do you damn self a favor and google the terms please, before you embarrass yourself any further.

And while we’re on the issue of race, you should know that you have a warped view of race/ethnicities. Hawaiian and German and all those other terms you mentioned ARE NOT RACES/ETHNICITIES. They are nationalities. The races of the world are Negroid, Asian, Indian and Caucasian (give or take a few, because some people say Hispanic is a race). German, Russian etc that forms a part of Nicole’s background belong to the Caucasian race. Put that in your damn pipe and smoke it.

And I have so much more I want to say. Just give me a couple hours. Dumb ass. If this is your sad excuse to explain why Nicole is not on top of the world, then you’re as pathetic as they come.

  • Mark

And to add to that, there doesn’t have to be a ethnic counterpart to every white singer for there to be racial equality. Rihanna is a successful singer. Damn, consider her Miley’s equivalent if you want to. And the discussion on The View that you were talking about dealt more with the acting world, where racism is more prevalent, since there are not many roles written for black and minority actors.

  • Bob

All I got to say is “Ouch!” The weakest comeback ever… by far.

I have never specified that German or Hawaiian was a race. Just the background as you said. Everyone says that anyway. People say that because it’s general. They are not trying to act like some uncool smartass like you correcting others. Even Nicole says that herself so I’m just taking her words. If you step out behind your little computer screen and say that to some more outgoing individual, you’ll get apple spat in your face for sure.

And according to you, Nicole is NOT a visible minority? This is why I’m done with you. If she’s not a minority, then what KIND of people do we call them? Are they called Aliens according to you? What about monsters? Or maybe ghosts? Or the Mothman? Or some Greek word meaning the one eye monster? You tell me Mr. Yale or which ever Ivy League you claim you’re from.

I have Filipino friends that say Nicole look similar to their people and I do agree to some extend. If you have to classify what she looks like the most out of the big four races, it’ll definitely be Asian since she do have similar features to Asians more than any other race. As I have been saying, she’s mixed that’s why she doesn’t really fit into one category but she is still a minority like it or not. I’ve been a Nicole fan for a long time and I have seen over thousands of pictures and videos of her. Honestly, I do think she will blend in an Asian crowd except you’ll say she’s probably mixed with some other ethnicity but none the less she’ll fit in more than you think.

The day that the media kisses Rihanna’s ass equivalent to Miley Cyrus’ will be the day that you can put them as the equivalent of one another. But a cold day in hell will come first.

A minority is a minority. You don’t need to add no damn visible crap. When taking a survey, visible minority is not an option therefore you say she is either white or a minority. It’s that simple. You don’t need to act like some smart ass telling people what this term or that term means. Everyone gets that. Since the Ku Klux Klan disapproved of anyone that is not purified white, according to you, the Ku Klux Klan will actually embrace Nicole since she is not a VISIBLE minority? You really think some racist redneck fucker would say “Matt, since this bitch looks…. well… she doesn’t look like a [insert racist nouns] …and she doesn’t really look like my cousin Mary Ann…. I’ll just take her home since she’s not a VISIBLE minority.” Are you kidding me? This is why I’m convinced you’re stone.

If you hate Nicole with a passion and wish death on her, you are en-title to that but just don’t express your radical views especially to Nicole fans. Why don’t you express that to yourself since you’re so lonely? You’re just envious because you’ll never see her money. Males shouldn’t be jealous that’s a female trait. You still never answer my key questions and dodge them like any douche bag such as Bill O’Reily or Rush Limbaugh would. You’re one sad pathetic no life asshole. I’m done with you or any haters for that matter. Lonely sad pathetic bastard…. nothing else to do but hate. I just don’t get you people.

I Won, You Lost. Deal with it. ;)

  • Mark

Ok, I’m done my exam, and I’m ready to set your sissy ass straight. You are the same one telling me to move from my computer and go out, yet you can’t accpet that I have other engagement than to reply to you, Nicole’s bootlicker, who will resort to calling the whole world racist simply because the semi-talent apple of his eye isn’t on top of the world.

You have given me nothing substantial in your post and it proves NOTHING. “The View” spoke about the acting world where blacks and minorities are hugely unrepresented, and only a handful of them are leading men/ladies and even a lesser amount have won Oscars. That is NOT the same for the music world. The female with the most #1s this decade so far is a tie between Rihanna and beyonce– both of whom are African American. The most Grammys are won by African American: Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, Quincy Jones etc. Most critically acclaimed genres are Jazz and Soul and R&B. And there are many equivalents to many white singers: Britney and Beyonce are practically in the same league (Beyonce has more success on the charts), Whitney, Mariah and Madonna are in the same league in terms of sales of albums and chart placements. Rihanna and Miley are similar (both sound the same with their annoying voices); best Selling album of all time is by a Black man (and even if he is white now, he was black when it was released and won 8 Grammys and spent 37 weeks at #1 on the charts, the longest ever).

The longest running #1 on the chart (16 wks) is by Mariah Carey and Boys II Men= black. The second longest #1 (14 wks) Whitney and Boys II men= black. Third longest (13 weeks), Brandy, Monica and Boys II Men= BLACK. 11 weeks: Puff Daddy Faith Evans, All4One, Toni Braxton, Destiny’s Child BLACK!!!!! I can go on and on and on if you want me to. I notice that I present all facts, and all you do is respond with hissy fits and and say, “if they were white, they would have been better.” Well, others are white, and they aren’t doing better.

They descrimination in the acting world is different than in the music world. Eminem is the only white guy that stands out in a world of black hip hop stars, where people like Jay Z, Tupac and Bigg and Nas and everyone is above him, and you think that this proves anything? You have dumb, dumber and dumber. You’re on a new extreme.

And you say people would stare at Nicole if she was in your neighbourhood? What kinda fucking hill-billy town are you from? Are you from the deep south? Is your mother also your grandma and your sister? Because that’s the only way someone can be ths fucking retarded.

  • Mark

And I’m not even done with you yet. For the record, I don’t live in a perfect world. I myself am a minority (don’t worry your empty head what’s my ethnicity) and I’ve felt racism many times. It’s just not as evident in the world as you make it seem. I’m not saying it’s completely free, but current event’s do not show it and it’s just DUMB and retarded to say that Nicole’s Asian background as a factor.

It didn’t prevent the group THE PUSSYCAT DOLLS from achieving near iconic status with “Don’t Cha”, and “Buttons” but do you really feel that they use it against her when she is solo? You’ve got to be kidding me. Destiny’s Child won an award the other day for best selling group in the world. Beyonce, who is more evidently ethnic than Nicole didn’t face any racism. She won 5 Grammys on her firs solo attempt, and like 3 more since then.

I’m sitting here tyring to make some sense of your Alicia Keys comment, and I just can’t get it. Not one bit. Dude, you make no sense whatsoever. I’m saying that Alicia Keys IS a minority, and if she’s successful, then so should Nicole be, if she is as talented as you say she is. Regarding Eminem. You can’t use one instance of a white person being good in black dominated genre as proof of anything. If anything, it proves how good Eminem is. If he was black, he would have found it easier, since hip hop is a black dominated genre (ie. Blacks have more success in hip hop than in any other race, and whites are usually held back).

You said: “Black people supports black people”, “white people supports white people”… Not as cut and paste as you make it. They support the people, BUT THEY ALSO SUPPORT THE GENRE of music. BET has played songs from white people if it’s done in the hip hop and r&B genre= They play Pussycat Dolls, Justin Timberlake, they played Madonna when she sang “4 Minutes” with JT. They support the GENRE. That means that if Nicole sang good R&B and Hip hop, she should have no problem getting airplay on these charts. Whites also support genre as well as race.
The majority of what you also said was a waste and a struggle to read beased on your faulty reasoning no doubt based on fucked up genes and hillbily lifestyle.

  • Mark

For the record, when I say “It’s just not as evident in the world as you make it seem” I’m talking specifically about the music world.

  • Anastasia

I completely agree with you Mark. Melody has an AMAZING voice…probably the best in the group. And just like Nicole, she COULD make it as a solo artist…she would probable make it to the top, better than Nicole! And I am sure that the dolls would still stand at the top of the charts even if Nicole left them. :)

  • Bob

I just knew it you damn coward. You still never answer my questions.

I have always agreed with the music entertainment on blacks being successful. You pointed out a bunch of successful black musicians is old news to me. Duh, we all know that already especially if we’re fans of the genre. As for the possibility of if these artists were white how would they do? As I said and will say again, if they were white, the stereotype that blacks are better singers would play a huge factor for them to gain even more fame. The perfect example is Eminem. I could go on and on with more but Eminem is nuff said. What is it that you don’t get about that? I have to repeat myself over and over and over again. What a dumbass. :shakeshead You claimed that others are white and they aren’t doing better, who?

You claimed that MCs like Jay-Z, Pac, BIG & Nas are above Eminem, but that’s not true in white society. If you go on the streets and mention these MCs, the typical white will look at you like what the fuck? If you include Eminem, their eyes will light up right away. You even claimed that you’re a minority and if you’re honest that just means you don’t know anything about white society. You also claimed that whites usually get held back in hip hop. The bottom line is whites in hip hop just plain sucks. That’s the answer. The reason why Eminem is 100 times better than them is because of his charisma and skills. We all know that even Eminem in his prime is no post Illmatic Nas but because he’s white, the white crowd including the media will disagree. And I’m an Eminem fan speaking the truth. I like him because honestly, I love hip hop and because we’re white therefore I look up to him. Most white Eminem fans do the same thing. There’s nothing wrong about looking up to someone of your race. That’s what Nicole needs. She needs little girls of Asian background to idolize her in order for her to achieve success. That’s my whole point all along when I said that her ethnicity plays a huge factor in her success. You’re the idiot who needs to go fuck off because you’re the one who don’t have a clue what you’re talking about and proceeded to drag this crap for days. Don’t you ever listen? It’s very simple.

Regarding you saying “They support the people, BUT THEY ALSO SUPPORT THE GENRE of music.” As I said, in order for you to achieve success to the next level, you have to have your people supporting you as well. That’s what Nicole needs. Beyonce or any other successful ethnic musicians have their people supporting them as well as that particular music genre fans. Example will be girls like Tyra B. & Cherish on BET all the time but they aren’t getting recognition besides their people’s support. For you to say that Beyonce is evidently more ethnic than Nicole is just plain stupid. Do me a favor and shoot yourself. Are you talking about Nicole Scherzinger? Because that’s the Nicole I’m talking about. Have you seen Nicole Scherzinger photos and videos as much as I have? Why don’t you go to a random updated Nicole or PCD fansite and look through several event photo sets. If Nicole does not look semi-Asian to you (including people from south Asia) how about Hispanic? If you really think she doesn’t have VISIBLE minority features, what about Roselyn Sanchez? Does she not have VISIBLE minority features too? YOU BETTER ANSWER THAT. She surely does look ethnic if you have at least decent visions. She’s definitely ethnic enough for people to classify her as a VISIBLE minority. For you to say that she’s not a visible minority is like saying that Don Imus is not a racist when we all know he is. You still manage to dodge my key questions proving I won. Damn fucktard.

If you are really a minority and not a poser white sympathizer, you must not be aware of racist issues as much as you claim you know. As a Caucasian male, even I’m more aware than you. You must be an idiot and should be ashamed of yourself. You remind me of those minority idiots that act as if they’re white and hang around some rednecks thinking we’re all family when the rednecks are giving them dirty stares. If you’re really honest, one day you’re feel bad when you do get discriminated against in a bigger way. Then you’ll realize that the world is not as perfect as you think it is.
I’m originally from a small town in Iowa but I’ll leave it at that. I know about the inbreed crap and the Skinhead soldiers and militia in the state but we are not like that you fucking narrow minded piece of shit. Just because you were born in a small white town doesn’t mean you are a fucking inbreed you racist fucker. You would never say that to my face you bitch ass douche bag of a puss.

Again this topic is about Nicole. Attacking my background just proves how much of a moronic douche bag you really are as I have nothing to do with this. If you hate Nicole with a passion and wish death on her, you are entitled to that but just don’t express your radical views especially to Nicole fans. You’re just envious because you’ll never see her money. Males shouldn’t be jealous that’s a female trait. You’re one sad pathetic no life asshole hater.

It’s officially time for me to take my bow knowing I defeated a racist ass low life scrum bag hater. First and foremost, I’ll like to thank my biggest fans and the crowd. We did it dominantly in the first round putting this asshole to sleep with a rear naked choke. Brazilian Jujutsu 101 baby! ;)

  • Mark

Bob, go to bed before your mother/sister/grandmother scolds you. You hill-billies need your strength to work on the farm and catch rats for dinner. All boils down to Nicole sucks. It doesn’t fucking matter what reason you want to cite. Society is racist, or sexist, or this or that.

It all boils down to the fact that Nicole flops. She sucks, she can’t sing, AND she dresses like a whore. And she FAILED TO CHART. FAILED MISERABLY. AND EVEN IF THE BITCH WENT TO CHINA TO SING where all her Asian fans were, no one would buy her damn lame-ass records. Even Malaysians say that she is a slut and charged them with breaking indecency laws.

THIS ISN’T SPECULATIONS where you can agree or disagree. And we should need to argue over this. It doesn’t matter what you want to say. In the end, Nicole SUCKS ASS and her solo album will never see the light of day.

Hahahahhahahhahaa. I’m laughing sooo hard at you. Keeping on licking Nicole’s ass hole. Her solo album is gonna debut at number 200 on the billboard 200, with 2 copies sold ahhaha.
OMG, you’re such a loser. Go slit your wrists.

  • Mark

    :)

  • Mark

And Bob, didn’t u say u were done arguing? Are u that insecure in getting your point across about that dumb Bitch Nicole? Grow up, man. Don’t u deep southerners have anything better to do (well, except your intra-family orgies). ;)

  • Bob

    LMAO!!!!!

I knew it!! You couldn’t answer my questions. You avoided them proving how low you really are. Instead you resulted to name calling to insult me and my “hillbilly” lifestyle. Not to mention expressing your real hatred towards Nicole. I also notice how you use to say that Nicole is a decent singer but because of this heated discussion, your true colors came out and in the end you said that Nicole can’t sing after all. Why hold that hatred back for so long? You could have started out saying that off the bat. You’re the definition of a sore loser. :lol

You notice how PCD’s new single Hush Hush has “Feat. Nicole Scherzinger” on the cover art? I bet it kills you to see that. :rotflmao

When you replied on this site and called me out, did you know who you’re messing with? That’s right, I don’t think so. That’s like an average Joe challenging Kobe Bryant to a one on one game. No matter what you say, I’ll counter you and make you look like an amateur.

And it’s funny to see how bitter you really are to reply 14 minutes later. That’s the lamest thing ever. :lol

And by the way, I’ll love to lick/eat and sniff/breathe on Nicole’s asshole ALL NITE LONG. I mean which guy wouldn’t want to do that? Maybe only a queer like you. Don’t be jealous just because I have great taste in women. ;)

  • Mark

I couldn’t give a fuck if u have good taste in women or not. That’s not my problem. The fact is, you remind me of Chris Crocker: “LEAVE NICOLE ALONE!!!!!” I’m simply just waiting for you to dress up in black mascara and make a damn youtube video and throw a hissy fit. hahahha

I don’t have to answer you questions. I already made it clear that your statements all consist of incomprehensible bullshit and fallacious reasoning. It’s like asking Einstein to defend himself against a twat like Paris Hilton. Why bother, right? Why worry myself over an idiot who doesn’t make much sense. And yes, the minute I responded to you, I realised that you were mentally retarded and that your mother and aunt was also your sister ;) Because only people fucked in the head would reason like you.
(as a side not, please look up “Argumentum ad Ignorantiam”. You southerners may not now what it means, but it will clearly help you to understand were you stand with me)

And it’s funny how you act like you’re the most intellectual guy, sensitive to complex minority issues, yet you’re also a bit of a homophobe when you call someone a “queer”. Tsk, tsk, me thinks you’re running out of things to say. (I can read your poker face lol :) )

And how sad it is that you ignore my restatements of facts for you. You know: the bit about Nicole sucking ass and being a big flop. No amonunt of critcism by you can change that fact.

And no, the new PCd song doesn’t affect me one bit. I’m just gonna sit back–AGAIN– and watch Nicole’s name being pushed on a single that WILL FAIL TO CRACK THE TOP 500 on Billboard hahahah. History sure does have a way of repeating itself, doesn’t it?

“I’ll do whatever you like, I’ll do whatever you like” HAHAHHAHAH. Songwriting of the CENTURY!!!! OMG, where is her Grammy Award for Song of the Year? Oh, I forgot, society is racist against her. Ohh, shame on us. Shame on us all to deny Nicole her due. I mean, she should be queen. And she’s not. And, um, that’s not right….Because she’s the female (and, gasp!) Asian version of Elvis. So please society, give Nicole a chance, because she’ll do whatever we like, whatever we like…hahhaha.

Bob, you’re just a swell guy. You’ve been a source of amusement for me. PLease hurry up with your reply, because I need a good laugh hahha.

  • Mark

Holy fucking shit. Nicole must be fucking pissed: hahahahhahaha, Can’t stop laughing. Go on Melody, with your bad self.

    http://perezhilton.com/2009-04-25-this-pussy-unleashes-her-claws
