Lil’ Wayne and Scott Weiland Go ‘Behind The Music’
VH1 announced on Thursday (March 19th) that the popular show, “Behind the Music” will be re-launched depicting more modern day musicians in mainstream Pop-culture, MTVnews.com reports.
“We had to rethink a little bit and look at these current artists that are really big stars now, and maybe it isn’t the classic rise and fall,” Rick Krim, executive vice president of talent and music programming at VH1, told MTV News on Thursday. “There’s the classic ‘Behind The Music’ arc, but in this crop we wanted to get some artists that were on top of their game now instead of looking back. And also, just because their big stars now doesn’t mean they necessarily have a great ‘Behind the Music’ kind of story.”
With 200 previous episodes, the show has covered a vast majority of iconic talents ranging from Meatloaf to Megadeth. Now that the show has made its way through the decades, VH1’s Behind the Music looks towards new age artists to reveal what goes on behind the scenes to the public and put their talents and realities on display.
Scott Weiland and Lil’ Wayne are among the first modern musical talents to sign up to be documented by the network, and these are certainly two current stars that have much drama to showcase behind their music.
New episodes are set to air in July/09.
