Keanu Reeves Feels The Need For Speed
Keanu Reeves is among the celebrities who will rev up for a good cause at the 35th annual Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach.
The “Matrix” actor is competing against 19 other drivers in the Toyota Pro/Celebrity Race, a 10-lap race for charity that will be held on a closed 3.17-kilometre street circuit on April 18.
Other celebrities set to race brand-new Scion tCs include Luke Wilson, Adrien Brody, Tim Daly, Raven-Symone, Jon Hamm, Tyson Beckford, Alex Trebek and Mary Lynn Rajskub.
At stake is a $5,000 donation from Toyota to the winning racer’s charity of choice. The company is already donating $5,000 in the name of each celebrity racer to “Racing for Kids,” a national non-profit program benefiting children’s hospitals in California.
A $15,000 donation will also be made in conjunction with the “PEOPLE Pole Award,” which is sponsored by PEOPLE magazine and honours the pole-position winner of the Toyota Pro/Celebrity Race qualifying session on April 17.
