Rant ‘N Rave: Taylor Kitsch
Taylor Kitsch. Gift to mankind. If his name doesn’t ring a bell, it will soon enough.
Think troubled/bad-boy high school football star Tim Riggins on NBC’s critically acclaimed show–Friday Night Lights (also known as one of the best shows on television). Sure he may play a drunken jackass/sweetheart in half—okay pretty much all—of the episodes to date, but he still manages to look undeniably sexy doing so.
And that’s talent.
But before his role as a high school fullback on the Dillon Panthers football team, Kitsch caught the eyes of many fans in David Richard Ellis’ Snakes on a Plane. Later, he also stared in The Covenant alongside pretty-boy wannabe Chace (yawn) Crawford. Sure the movies weren’t memorable (okay, I can’t remember either one) but Kitsch made it to the big screen.
In Hollywood, that’s all that matters.
Oh yeah, he also starred in the odd-ball flick John Tucker Must Die but heck, we all make career choices we aren’t proud of (yeah Britney).
Beyond acting, Kitsch is also a certified personal trainer and, at the age of 25, he became the youngest cover boy ever for Men’s Health magazine. Now that’s quite an accomplishment. Seriously.
Unfortunately, like so many other Canadian boys, Kitsch was set to become a professional hockey player, but a bad knee injury ended his career.
And after all that, if you still have no clue who I am talking about—it’s about time you Google. Trust me ladies, you will thank me.
But what will likely bring Kitsch to super-fame is his role as Gambit in the X-Men franchise spin-off X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Have you seen the promotional trailers? (Google it) Boy, it’s exhilarating. Hugh Jackman shirtless plus Kitsch equals? The newest aphrodisiac for women.
Who knew mutants could be so attractive?
But beyond his good looks, Kitsch is definitely worth watching out for. He’s talented and charming and, when he’s not filming, reports say he enjoys during charity work.
This Canadian boy is definitely a keeper.
Come May 1, 2009—when X-Men Origins: Wolverine—is released into theatres, you will never question who Kitsch is ever again.
You won’t even have to use Google.
