tenacious d The crazy comedic musical duo, Tenacious D, is back at it again. This time, the group has written a song in the hopes of it being included in the remake of the 1981 classic Heavy Metal which will be directed by David Fincher, who directed masterpieces such as Fight Club and the Curious Case of Benjamin Button.
Tenacious D is comprised of superstar comedian Jack Black and Kyle Gass. The group has a strong following and is loved by celebrities like Kanye West, whom named the group as one of his influences in an episode of VH1’s Storytellers which aired on Saturday.

The last album the satiric duo released was a soundtrack to their movie, The Pick of Destiny in 2006. This new song that they hope will be included in the remake of Heavy Metal will be the first creation to pave the way to their next album, which has been slated to come out around 2010 or 2012. ”We’re submitting one song for Fincher’s consideration,” Black said. “That’s a horrible scoop to give you. Now, if the movie comes out and you see we’re not in it, you’ll be like, ‘Oh, rejected by Fincher!’”
