Kevin James Is ‘The Zookeeper’
Kevin James is going from the mall to the zoo.
The actor, who can currently be seen in theatres in “Paul Blart: Mall Cop,” has signed on for the title role in “The Zookeeper.”
The comedy will follow a good-natured but lonely zookeeper who decides to leave his job to pursue a better life and somebody to love, leading to an intervention by the zoo animals.
Frank Coraci, who has helmed several Adam Sandler movies including “The Wedding Singer,” will direct the project.
Aside from “Paul Blart,” which earned nearly $33.8 million in its opening weekend, James has appeared in such movies as “I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry” and “Hitch.” He also starred in the TV sitcom “The King of Queens” over nine seasons.
