Timothy Hutton has signed on for a role in Roman Polanski’s political thriller “The Ghost.”

The movie, based on the book by English novelist Robert Harris, follows a ghostwriter who is hired to complete the memoirs of a former British prime minister and stumbles across secrets that put his own life in danger.

The movie already features several big names, including Ewan McGregor as the ghostwriter and Pierce Brosnan as the ex-PM. Hutton will play the politician’s American lawyer.

Tom Wilkinson, James Belushi and Kim Cattrall round out the cast.

The movie will begin shooting this week in Berlin.

Hutton is an Academy Award-winning actor for his role in 1980’s “Ordinary People.” He currently stars in TNT’s “Leverage” and recently had three movies premiere at the Sundance Film Festival: “Lymelife,” “Brief Interviews With Hideous Men” and “The Killing Room.”
