Sex And The City Sequel Officially A Go
It’s official: Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda will return to the big screen.
A sequel to the “Sex and the City” movie is in the works, with all four female leads — Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon — aboard the new project, movie studio New Line confirmed Thursday.
The script will be written by Michael Patrick King, who wrote and directed the first movie.
“I’m very excited to work with these amazing actresses again and would love to give everyone more information about the sequel,” King said in a statement, adding jokingly, “… but I’m busy with my Sex life.”
King also worked on the hit “SATC” cable TV series, which ended its six-year run in 2004.
The show’s leap to the big screen last year was a box-office success, grossing $415 million worldwide.
The sequel is tentatively scheduled to hit theatres in 2010.
