Bruce Springsteen Takes The No. 1 Spot
It took eight weeks for another album to top the Billboard albums chart: Bruce Springsteen was able to knock Taylor Swift’s “Fearless” album from the No. 1 spot with “Working On A Dream”.
According to figures provided by Nielsen SoundScan, Springsteen’s latest album will top the album’s chart on sales of 223,000. Meanwhile Taylor Swift will hold onto the No. 2 spot.
Despite his widely viewed performance at the inauguration of President Barack Obama and his Super Bowl appearance, Springsteen’s latest album sold 100,000 fewer copies than the band’s 2007 album “Magic” in its first week.
Beyoncé’s “I Am … Sasha Fierce” landed the No. 3 spot selling 51,000 copies followed by “Dark Horse,” the latest from Nickelback. Kanye West’s “808s & Heartbreak” earned the No. 5 spot with 33,000 copies, while the newcomer 2009 Grammy Nominees is at No.6 with 32,000. Jamie Foxx follows with “Intuition” (31,000) and “A Different Me” by Keyshia Cole reaches No. 8.
