Anna Friel, a.k.a. Charlotte “Chuck” Charles on ABC’s “Pushing Daisies,” has signed on to star in the romantic comedy “The Wedding.”

The movie is being executive produced by Jason Reitman, who previously directed the indie hit “Juno,” and his producing partner Daniel Dubiecki.

“Wedding” will follow a young man (Jesse Eisenberg, “The Squid and the Whale”) who falls hard for a 30-ish woman and crashes her nuptials.

The bride will be played by Friel, who recently worked opposite Will Ferrell on the sci-fi adventure comedy “Land of the Lost,” due out next year.

“Pushing Daisies” was cancelled by ABC late last month, along with “Dirty Sexy Money” and “Eli Stone.”
