After its $70.5 million debut at the box office, Summit Entrainment LLC has given the green light for “New Moon,” the sequel to Stephenie Meyer’s hit novel “Twilight.”

“Twilight” director Catherine Hardwicke described the difference between the first film and “New Moon” to MTV News, “It’s got werewolves, it’s got visual effects that turn people into werewolves, it’s got motorcycle stunts, you go to Italy. It’s probably twice as much as this [to film]”

And even though the second book reduces Edward Cullen’s presence, Robert Pattinson explained to MTV News that “New Moon” is one of his favourite books in the series, “I’m looking forward to doing the re-emergence … at the end of the second book, when he’s killing himself, I think that’d be kind of spectacular seeing that. And the second book is my favorite book, so I’m quite looking forward to doing it.”
