Leona Lewis, Beyonce To Sing For Obama?
Barack Obama’s inauguration ceremony may feature performances by several of the world’s biggest artists.
Leona Lewis, Beyonce and Jay-Z are all rumoured to be in talks to perform at the historic event in Washington, DC Jan. 20, when Obama is sworn in as the 44th president of the United States.
A million people are predicted to travel to the capital to attend the ceremony.
British singer Lewis has been a vocal supporter of Obama, previously describing him as “amazing. He’s just so cool and articulate.”
Meanwhile, Beyonce told reporters in New York last week that she would “definitely be there” at the swearing-in. “I want to be there to witness it,” she said.
When asked if she might perform at the ceremony, she replied, “Of course I’d love to. Who wouldn’t?”
Beyonce’s husband Jay-Z actively supported Obama throughout his election campaign and put on two shows to encourage voter registration in October.
