Aaron Eckhart To ‘Battle’ For L.A.
It’s goodbye, means streets of Gotham — hello, alien-infested streets of Los Angeles for Aaron Eckhart.
The “Dark Knight” co-star has signed on to star in “Battle: Los Angeles,” a sci-fi action movie for Columbia.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the actor will play the leader of a Marine platoon fighting alien invaders in L.A.
Jonathan Liebesman, who previously helmed “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning,” is directing from a script by Chris Bertolini (”The General’s Daughter”).
A production start date has yet to be finalized.
Eckhart next appears opposite Jennifer Aniston in the romantic drama “Traveling.”
It follows his turn as Harvey Dent in the summer blockbuster “The Dark Knight,” which has grossed more than $997 million worldwide.
The 40-year-old actor’s credits also include such smaller films as “In the Company of Men” and “Thank You for Smoking,” for which he won an Independent Spirit Award and earned a Golden Globe nomination, respectively.
