A week before “Twilight” hits theatres, the wheels are already turning on big-screen adaptations of the next three novels in Stephenie Meyer’s popular vampire series.

Summit Entertainment, the studio behind “Twilight,” has acquired the rights to the other books in the hopes of building a blockbuster film franchise.

The studio has hired “Twilight” scribe Melissa Rosenberg to adapt the second and third books, “New Moon” and “Eclipse.”

Rosenberg, whose credits include “Step Up” and TV’s “Dexter,” has said she chooses not to read ahead in the series to keep the evolution of the characters authentic.

Summit has yet to hire a writer for the fourth book, “Breaking Dawn.”

“Twilight,” which introduces the relationship between average teen Bella (Kristen Stewart) and vampire Edward (Robert Pattinson), will be released Nov. 21.

The four books in Meyer’s series have sold 18 million copies.
