Ben Folds Five Reunite For MySpace
Ben Folds Five returned to Chapel Hill last night to play their first gig in nearly 10 years—for MySpace.
The trio played a one-time reunion show in North Carolina as part of MySpace’s “Front to Back” series that sees bands perform entire albums. The band played their last of four records, 1999’s “The Unauthorized Biography of Reinhold Messner.”
They are the first act for the MySpace series.
Proceeds from the show went to Operation Smile, a non-profit charity for correcting childhood facial deformities.
Pianist and vocalist Folds, drummer Darren Jessee, and bassist Robert Sledge formed Ben Folds Five in Chapel Hill in 1993. They broke up in 2000, shortly after “Reinhold Messner” was released.
Folds’ third solo album, “Way To Normal” hit shelves earlier this week.
You can catch the Ben Folds Five reunion show on MySpace next month.
