Celebrities To Carol For ‘Colbert Christmas’
Stephen Colbert is getting an early start on decking the halls this year, with the help of some musical friends.
Feist, John Legend and Elvis Costello are among the artists who will appear with the comedian in “A Colbert Christmas: The Greatest Gift of All!,” a one-hour special slated to air Nov. 23 on Comedy Central.
The premise of the show has Colbert snowed in at his cabin in upstate New York, prompting him and his guests to pass the time by breaking into song.
Original music was penned for the special by “Daily Show” executive producer David Javerbaum and Fountains of Wayne’s Adam Schlesinger.
Among the featured performances are “Please By Patient” by Feist,” “Have I Got A Present For You” by Toby Keith and “Little Dealer Boy,” which Colbert sings with Willie Nelson.
Colbert is also joined by “Daily Show” host Jon Stewart for a duet entitled “Hanukkah.”
A DVD of the special, to be released Nov. 25, will continue to spread the holiday cheer: A portion of the proceeds will go to the charity Feeding America.
