‘Poltergeist’ Remake May Have Its Director
“House of Sand And Fog” director Vadim Perelman may soon be resurrecting “Poltergeist.”
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Ukrainian-American director is in negotiations to helm MGM’s remake of the 1982 horror classic.
“Boogeyman” co-writers Juliet Snowden and Stiles White are already attached to pen the script.
The original movie, directed by Tobe Hooper and co-written by Steven Spielberg, revolved around a family who are forced to confront an evil spirit in their house.
It led to two sequels in 1986 and 1988.
Perelman studied briefly in Canada before making a name for himself as a music video and TV commercial director. He followed up 2003’s critically acclaimed “House of Sand and Fog” with last year’s “The Life Before Her Eyes,” starring Uma Thurman and Evan Rachel Wood.
