Griffin Technologies, a company specializing in iPhone and iPod accessories, recently announced the availability of the iTrip Universal, the latest addition to Griffin’s iTrip line of FM transmitters. The iTrip Universal is compatible with most portable audio players and is the first iTrip to feature a rechargeable battery.

The iTrip Universal allows audio to be played through the FM stereo at home or in a car using any portable audio source that has a common 1/8” headphone jack, such as the iPod, Sansa, Zune, and portable CD players.

The iTrip Universal’s internal battery can be recharged through any USB port, and connects to the player via a stereo audio cable included with the device. Three user-programmable presets save the best FM frequencies available. The device also features selectable stereo/mono output modes.
