Ray LaMontagne Prepares for Tour, Album Release
Ray LaMontagne is set to hit 28 North American cities this fall in support of his latest album, “Gossip In The Grain.”
The American folk singer-songwriter was initially set to release “Gossip” in September, but he went back into the studio last week after being struck by inspiration and recorded additional material.
The 10-track album, LaMontagne’s third LP, will now hit stores on Oct. 14.
To back the new release, the musician will head out on a six-week tour beginning in Indianapolis, IN on Sept. 30 and wrapping up in Seattle, WA on Nov. 9.
There are two Canadian dates on the schedule, Toronto’s Queen Elizabeth Theatre (Oct. 7) and Vancouver’s Vogue Theatre (Nov. 8).
Leona Naess, who joined LaMontagne on two tracks off “Gossip,” will serve as the opener. The singer-songwriter is backing her new album “Thirteens,” due out on Sept. 23.
LaMontagne has garnered numerous nominations and awards since coming out with his debut LP “Trouble” in 2004. He won three Boston Music Awards in 2005 including album of the year, and was nominated for best international breakthrough act at the 2007 BRIT Awards.
