‘Incredible Hulk’ Tops Box Office
“The Incredible Hulk” starring Edward Norton came out on top of the box office with $54.5 million, according to Exhibitor Relations estimates today, reports E! News.
“There were a lot of naysayers out there when we said we were doing this,” said Nikki Rocco, Universal’s president of domestic distribution, “The Hulk smashed those naysayers.” And according to E! News, “The Incredible Hulk” accounted for about one-third of all ticket sales for the weekend’s top movies.
But did “The Incredible Hulk” make more money its opening weekend than the 2003 version “Hulk”?
Not quite. Five years ago, “Hulk” opened with stronger numbers by bringing in $62.1 million in its opening weekend.
“Kung Fu Panda” placed second with #34.3 million while M.Night Shyamalan’s latest horror-thriller “The Happening” opened in third place with $30.5 million.
