Broken Social Scene, The Roots and Bedouin Soundclash are among the artists who will descend upon Whistler, B.C., for this summer’s inaugural Whistler Music Festival.

The world-famous resort town will host the event from July 19 to 20.

Other acts lined up for the festival include Elvis Costello and The Imposters, Robert Randolph & The Family Band, Medeski Martin & Wood and Serena Ryder.

More performers will be announced in the coming weeks.

Tickets go on sale May 29, with single-day tickets going for about $67.50 and two-day passes costing $120.

This will be the second major music event to take place in the Whistler area this summer. The first-ever Pemberton Festival will be held in nearby Pemberton the weekend after Whistler, with performers including Coldplay, Jay-Z and Nine Inch Nails.
