SANYO Canada Releases Waterproof CameraCorder
SANYO Canada has released a fully waterproof digital movie camera with 8 mega pixel still image capability. This development eliminates the need for users to carry a camcorder and a digital camera to record events in both medians.
The new camera, called the E2 CameraCorder, is being marketed as ideal for people with an active, outdoors lifestyle, as the camera can be fully submerged underwater up to 1.5 meters for a total of 60 minutes.
The E2 CameraCorder uses MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 high quality format for video recordings, and saves both video and still images onto a SD / SDHC card (sold separately from the camera). The CameraCorder is able to save a total of 10 hours of high-definition video on an 8GB SDHC memory card.
Other interesting features of the E2 CameraCorder include an underwater scene mode to capture truer underwater colours, a web-mode for easy sharing of videos via YouTube and portable media players, in-camera editing and a talking navigation feature that guides new users. The CameraCorder comes bundled with Adobe Premier Elements 4.0 for movie editing.
The CameraCorder will be available in Canada in early June and will be sold at many major retailers, such as Bay Bloor Radio, Henry’s, Best Buy Online and Dell.ca. The cameras will be selling for around $440.
