Elton John has formally backed U.S. presidential contender Hillary Clinton, holding a fundraiser in her honour last night.

The New York Time reports that the event John hosted and performed at raised US$2-million for the Clinton campaign.

The concert was held at Radio City Music Hall. John announced the concert last month in an email to Clinton supporters, which he signed personally.

Over 5,000 tickets were sold for the event.
